I have three phones, fully paid, and have been trying to unlock - 3 TIMES. It is mine and paid for, yet it is unusable because of AT&T and I am FURIOUS! Never will I do any business with them again, and I give them an F- for how they treat people who have been with them for a decade!!!
They want an early cancelation fee!! Despite everything I've gone through, they absolutely do not care and won't give an inch on anything. They would not even let me cancel that now, even if I let em keep the entire overpayment. My account is overpaid and they will end up owing me money on that.
I also have a tablet and the contract is up in March. They say my email doesn't work, yet they email me? I'm literally in tears with frustration. I've been transferred to departments that don't do cell phones at all. I have clocked a dozen hours since last week on hold, talking to agents who all have zero clue what it happening and having to start all over again I've been disconnected repeatedly. Next agent up says the one I'd just talked to literally did.nothing at all. However, this new person told me it was unlocked and only had to have the new SIM card put in after synching it with iTunes. Apparently, the agent didn't follow the proper steps so they had to redo it.
SINKING SIMULATOR 2 WONT OPEN VERIFICATION
Received verification that it was unlocked and received another email at the same time saying the unlock request couldn't be processed. According the customer service, this is common. Switched 3 lines over to another carrier and received 2 emails to unlock and those worked. You have my guaranatee that I will never be an AT&T wireless customer again. It should be illegal that AT&T is keeping me hostage by not unlocking my phone that I have fairly paid off SIX months ago. I have already transferred my services to T-Mobile, and to not be able to use my phone is ridiculous. I have been on and off the phone with them all day-and they keep transferring me to different departments-each time, I have to talk to an automated machine again, and get back to square one. When I came home and try to put in my new SIM card, it says my phone has not been unlocked!!! So what I do is check the confirmation number-they gave me the confirmation number for my FIRST IPHONE that was already unlocked. When they did this, customer service told them my phone has already been unlocked and gave a confirmation number. When I go to the retail store, they also said they cannot do anything and tried to call customer service on my behalf. Over the phone, they say they cannot do anything and suggested me to go to retail. I have called AT&T at least 5 times today AND gone to the AT&T retail store. When I try to check my status, I cannot because I don't have the reference number since I never received the confirmation. Every time I go back to the website, I get a message that there is already a submission to unlock my phone and that I should check my status. For the 2nd phone, I never received a confirmation email. I used the website to unlock my phone-the first iPhone received the confirmation email and I confirmed it, and was able to get the phone unlocked within 2 hours.
I have 2 iPhone 6's that I paid off in May. I have spent the past 2 days contacting AT&T about unlocking my phone.
